Perching on its kelp throne this spider crab (Maja squinado) enjoys a lofty lunch spot, as it snips at seaweeds with its long pincers. These large crabs have been recorded making annual migrations in their thousands to Pembrokeshire’s shallow coastal waters where they gather in the summer months to mate and moult. Photographed freediving at Caerfai Bay, St David’s.
